Introduction

History & Facts

  • Founded in 1855, the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) has been providing technical education for 160 years.
  • The bachelor's degree programmes are taught in Dutch, with the exception of Aerospace Engineering which is taught in both Dutch and English.
  • Proficiency in Dutch is a requirement for undergraduate courses.
  • Prospective international undergraduates can apply online and must register with Studielink before 15 May of the year of autumn entry.

Location and Transportation

  • The TU Campus can be reached from Delft Station on the district lines 69, 121 or 40. Trains connect Delft with Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
  • Although the university has strong transportation facilities, however, use of cycles in Amsterdam is highly prominent as well as encouraged. 
  • The central location of the university connects it with many hubs of the city. 

 

Student Facilities and Unions

  • Students may work for no more than 14 hours a week within Amsterdam.
  • Home to almost 8303 students, including 845 doctoral students. 
  • Numerous restaurants and cafeterias serving a wide range of different cuisines.
  • Amsterdam Academic Sports Association has something for everyone, offering 120 different sports, from aikido to windsurfing. Also, bilingual training center where students can learn new skills.
