DTU Student Grabs a 1 Crore Offer from Google

A final year student of the Delhi Technological University (DTU) has been offered a compensation package of USD190,000 (Rs1.27 Crore) by Google. Chetan Kakkar, alumnus of Springdales, Delhi, is presently studying in the information technology department at the Delhi Technological University. He will be joining the California based search giant – Google – after completing his graduation in 2016. While speaking to the media, an ecstatic Chetan, attributed his success to his parent’s blessing and his teachers at Delhi Technological University.

His parents, who themselves are teachers at the Delhi University, said that they are very proud of their son’s efforts and believe that Chetan is destined to achieve further successes in his career. Before this, the highest offer made so far in DTU campus placements was Rs93 lakh. "This was what I had been striving so far and I am excited to join Google," said Kakkar.

Founded in 1941, the DTU is amongst the oldest universities of India. In 2009, the college was given the status of a university, prior to which, it was under the government of Delhi.
